What to expect?

With this program, we seek to advance our candidates‘ proficiencies in research, methodology and analytical skills via the critical review and systematic application of appropriate theories and the undertaking of research in order to maximize their performances and decision making abilities in their chosen areas. The course has three main aims:

  • to contribute to the effectiveness of the organization in which the research takes place
  • providing knowledge in the area of ​​organizational studies
  • and enhancing the management competence of the researcher

Course of study and study content in Doctor of Business Administration

The TRIAGON concept of project-based learning and the multifaceted world of business management offer numerous application possibilities. You decide which topics and questions you want to deepen as part of your project work and your doctoral thesis.

In the first 12 months of the program you will gain in-depth insights into the research methods of management. In the following 2 years you will be able to focus on a selected topic in your doctoral thesis with this knowledge. The doctoral degree comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits.

This module focuses on the distinctive features of a professional doctorate and practice-based research, exploring the essential principles of evidence–based practice, developing as a self-aware reflective practitioner and to be able to respond to social, scientific and ethical challenges.

Your Learning process:
At the end of this module students will be able to locate qualitative and quantitative methods within their research design and be able to collect and prepare analysis of the data necessary to fulfil their research objectives.

The themes would explore major contributions and theoretical developments as well as exposing students to organisational research that has explored these themes in depth and detail.

Your Learning process:
Focusing on student experiences during their participant research groups and documenting changes in thinking and practice, this module acts as a vehicle for self expression. The module also encompasses a pilot study in order to allow a degree of practice and reflection regarding the doctoral research process and design.

Where do managers work?

Graduates of the doctorate programs work in all sectors, from small private companies to internationally operating corporate groups in responsible positions.
Possible fields of employment are industrial and commercial enterprises, banking and finance, insurance, construction and real estate, internet, media, IT companies, event management, tourism; as well as in the field of management consulting, services, non-profit organizations and associations.

What tasks do managers take on?

The areas of responsibility of a graduate are highly dependent on the size of the company and the company structure in addition to the professional experience and personal suitability. In general, the smaller the company, the faster you can qualify for management, top management and executive positions.

Managers are active in all areas and departments of the company. They are responsible for personnel teams and organizational units.

The tasks are numerous, the core is ::

The chances for the future are very good as you can work as a graduate in all sectors and in different professional fields. You are qualified for all tasks of corporate management, corporate planning and development, which allows you a wide range of tasks.

You can currently find particularly good entry opportunities in the financial, trade, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors and in the professional fields of purchasing, marketing, human resources or IT.

What do managers earn?

Your salary after the master depends from the industry, the size of the company and the form of the employer. Other decisive factors are your previous (leadership) experience and not least the region in which you want to gain a foothold in your career.
Your starting salary may differ significantly from that of a Bachelor graduate. After completing your Masters, it will probably be on a scale of € 36,000 to € 50,000, with your salary opportunities increasing with increasing responsibility, especially in the next four to five years can rise rapidly.

Admission Requirements

Candidates must have the ability and opportunity to carry out detailed research activity in one or more organisations. Candidates will normally have already gained an MBA or other business-related master’s degree, together with 2-3 years of business and management experience. Candidates are required to submit a 3000 word proposal and successfully pass a panel interview. They have to demonstrate the capability for doing independent research at level 8 MQF.

Students must produce evidence of English language proficiency at IELTS:6.0 or equivalents with a minimum of 5 in each component or English B2 referred to CEFR.

Tuition Fees and Financing

The monthly costs amount to 495 €, or to 990 CHF at the location in Bern. The entire study has a price of € 6,520. In Switzerland (Bern), the total price is CHF 12,660 (introductory price), well below the cost of other private universities.

The Tuition Fees can be paid on a monthly or semester basis.

There are many ways to finance a degree course. The simplest variant of the study financing is the extra-occupational study. Here you work beside the study and earn money to finance the tuition fees. In addition, a range of public and private financing options can be used. The most popular are BAföG and special support programs, student loans as well as scholarships and foundations.
